DROUET (Juliette).
LAS addressed to Victor Hugo, November 18 (1849). 4 pages in-8.
Juliette suffers from being neglected. "When it comes to Pradier's dinner (...) I want it to be clearly understood that you go to this man's house for your pleasure and despite the certainty of distressing and worrying me, but at least don't do this profanation of using my poor daughter as a shroud to hide the equivocal pleasures you seek at Pradier's house. Now I beg you not to speak to me about it. Do as you please without concealment, it will be less painful for me perhaps than adding the shameful and unholy deception you wanted to use. When I think of all the sad things that envelop me on all sides I am amazed that I have the courage to live."
