NOTE
Max Moreau settled in Marrakech, Morocco, in 1947. He stayed for three years. During this period, he frequented the colonial bourgeoisie, painting many of their portraits, as well as many of their artists, including Jacques Majorelle. He also painted portraits of Marrakchis, particularly in the context of their trade. He exhibited at the Palais de la Bahia, as he did in each of the countries he visited.
