Albrecht Dürer (1471 - Nuremberg - 1528) - Death and Landsknecht (leaflet with a poem in 76 lines of verse) Woodcut and type print on laid paper with trimmed watermark "Mittlerer Reichsapfel" (Meder watermark 56). (1519). 12.1 x 8.4 cm (sheet size). Bartsch 132; Meder 239 probably 1 c (of 2 b); Schoch/Mende/Scherbaum 149 probably 1 c (of 2 b) Quite excellent strong and even impression of the rare sheet from the 1st edition, without text and with the gap in the "D" of the monogram. Trimmed to the framing line on two sides, left and bottom with a fine margin around the same. - Minimally light-stained in the mat opening. A barely noticeable horizontal fold in the lower third of the sheet. Isolated tiny backed losses in the left and right margins, both at the bottom. Verso with remnants of former mounting. In good condition. Provenance: Unidentified collector's stamp "Krone" (not in Lugt); Galerie Valentien, Stuttgart, with confirmation of purchase (not dated).Taxation: differential taxation (VAT: Margin Scheme)ne ony lots.
