Excellent, strong and even impression of the very rare sheet. With a margin up to 10 mm wide around the framing line.
Cranach depicts a large show tournament on a demarcated square, watched more or less attentively by many onlookers from all classes of the population. Emperor Maximilian had given the tournament a new impetus, wanting to promote knightly skills. - With a smoothed centrefold on the verso and old mounting strips in the upper corners. Paper somewhat brownstained and darkened. A small marginal tear at the upper edge, otherwise in good condition. Very rare!
