First edition of this translation by the poet Charles Fontaine (1515-1589), a disciple and defender of Clément Marot, who spent part of his life in Lyon, where he became close to Barthélemy Aneau.
It was shared between Jean Temporal and Eustache Barricat, a Lyon merchant-librarian whose publishing activity is known only from a dozen editions published between 1550 and 1556. Barricat's typographical mark on the title (Silvestre, n°543).
