First edition of this poem in which the poet uses the words of the queen mother, Catherine de Médicis, wife of Henri III, to give advice to her son, King of France in 1574 under the name Henri III. "Elle" concludes "her" poem as follows:
Et si je ne me trompe, un présent je te envoie
Such that the more you see it, the more joy you'll have,
My Son, if you receive it so well
From your Mother in your heart, as from good heart it leaves.
