Pendule "au char" d'époque Empire Fire-gilt bronze, brass, white enamel chapter ring with black lettering, blued hands. The movement in the wheel axle with 14-day running time, thread suspension of the pendulum and half-hour strike on bell. Cast from several parts and screwed together. Large chimney pendulum on an oblong base with three appliqués, four lictor bundles on the corners as feet. The antique chariot pulled by two rearing horses, the drawbar held by a lion, Athena standing behind the charioteer Telemachos. Signed on the chapter ring "LHOEST FG. ST. HONORE". H 45.5, W 48.5, D 11.5 cm. Paris, c. 1810, the bronze cast attributed to Jean-André Reiche. The Bibliothèque nationale owns a drawing by the bronzier Jean-André Reiche (1752 - 1817), to which this attribution can be traced. Kjellberg also mentions a copy in Malmaison Castle, another is in the Musée du Temps in the Palais Granvelle in Besançon. The watchmaker LHoest is probably Dieudonné LHoest, born in Liège in 1778, who is documented in Paris from 1796 and specialized in the production of pocket watches.
