Pair of candlesticks with disguised children Porcelain and soft porcelain, colored overglaze decoration, fire-gilded bronze and wire. Girl as a Columbine and boy as a Turkish child on openwork bronze bases, in front of a branch decorated with porcelain flowers, each under a flower-shaped candle holder. Unglazed bases, the girl with faintly recognizable blue mark swords and engraved 24. Her head reattached, restorations to the fingers and the tip of one foot. H 19.5 and 20.5 cm. Meissen, the models by Johann Joachim Kaendler, 1750s.
