Second title illustrated by Dmitry Mithrokin (1883-1973) among the rare first three works in the Gamliel library of the publisher Omanut. Translation of Russian works by the Moscow publisher Knebel in the early 20th century. Legend by Swedish poet Richard Gustafsson (1840-1918).
Luminous full- and half-page lithographs and, on the frontispiece, the beautiful tree of life with the first name of the publisher's son, Shoshana Persitz (1893-1969), little Gamliel, at the foot.
Restorations on spine, corners and edge of first cover, endpapers reinforced, staples replaced with thread.
