Peasant dance
AUBUSSON tapestry, late 19th, early 20th century
Woven in wool and silk.
H. 2.33 x L.2.67 m
In the foreground, five figures can be seen in the center of the composition. A shepherd, close to a flock, is guiding with a wave of his hand two couples of peasants, carrying musical instruments, baskets, sprays of flowers and everyday tools, moving to the rhythm of the music against a landscape background.
This charming tapestry has retained some of its original color and border.
It is in good condition, with some wear.
