MANUSCRIT autograph, Chez le receleur, [ca. 1927]; 4 pages on 4 in-4 leaves on the letterhead of Grands Cafés de Toulouse. Outline of an unpublished screenplay, with 2 small drawings. The action, akin to a detective story, takes place in an old manor house in the heart of the countryside. A bandit is on the run and his portrait in the newspapers; detectives are looking for him, and the prefect is fulminating. Two crooks, H. and T., settle their accounts. The cut gives numerous indications of time, framing, acting and even editing. "At the fence - newspapers - 2nd guy throws away his cigarette and reads. Newspaper crumpled by the wind. A bonus of 10,000 francs is offered to whoever provides the retreat... He seems to have settled in the Rouen area... [...] Newsagents talking away (idea of scattering). 2° under the pile of newspapers. 3° the three cheated inspectors who read and throw away the newspaper in spite (comical). 4° manila players (big pile of saucers) with moustaches or beards (small shopkeepers) chatting loudly about the newspaper, then ordering another round, each looking victorious. 5° A concierge on the sidewalk arguing with the letter carrier. 6° Rain of newspapers All these scenes accelerate... Etc
