Countess FANNY DE BEAUHARNAIS. Marie-Anne-Françoise MOUCHARD DE CHABAN (1737-1813), known as Fanny, was a woman of letters. She was the daughter of François Abraham Marie Mouchard de Chaban, a squire who became Receiver General of Finances for Champagne, and Anne Louise Lazure, daughter of a member of the King's paneterie-bouche and cook in Louis XV's petits appartements. Godmother to Hortense de BEAUHARNAIS, her great-niece, she married Claude-Joseph de BEAUHARNAIS on March 1, 1753, 20 years her senior, Seigneur then Comtedes Roches-Baritaud, naval officer and gentleman - 6 autograph letters signed, including : One addressed to Mlle de CERÉ BARBÉ written in Paris in Year 10 + One addressed to the Inspector General of Police bearing the arms of the British Egerton family dated May 28, 1813, in which she speaks of the victories of their great monarch. Signed "Fanny de Beauharnais".
