SOMME. Marchands des SALINES de la Ville d'AMIENS (80). Extract from the Registres du Conseil d'État of August 28, 1725, sent for copy to the director of Chartres, by letter of February 10, 1789. Manuscript, 10 pages in-4°: "Vu au Conseil d'État du Roi, la requête présentée par les Marchands de Salines de la Ville d'AMIENS, contenant que le directeur des Aides de ladite Ville exige d'eux des Soumissions qui sont contre l'usage l'ordonnance et la liberté du Commerce; that, according to custom, they gave the buyer of saltworks a ticket by which they marked the quantity of salted fish they had sold him, and that this ticket was taken to the Director of the Aides in his office on the quay, who gave his visa; that in the year 1724 this Director refused to give his visa and obliged them to make declarations of what they sold, and submissions to bring back certificates of discharge and payment of duties..."
