Oil on canvas, relined. (c. 1700). 75 x 54.8 cm to 76.5 x 54.6 cm (in a sweeping high oval). Probably in the o. frames.
Fine craquelure. The paint layer rubbed in places. Occasional tiny black spots. Stenter frame verso with old wormholes. Frame bumped. In good condition for age.
Provenance: Collection of the writer Hermann Sudermann (1857-1928), Blankensee Castle near Trebbin, each with adhesive label "Schloss Blankensee/Krs Luckenwalde" on the stretcher; Leo Spik, Berlin, auction, 1.12.2005, lot 52 (as "Venezianisch, 18. Jh."); since then in private collection, Germany.
