Published in the same year as the large in-12 edition with exactly the same text, the latter containing 772 letters including 133 new ones.
It is adorned with 2 portraits, one of Madame de Sévigné engraved by Pelletier after Le Fèvre, the other of her daughter the Countess de Grignan, engraved by Aubert after Mignard.
A fine copy.
Volume II, small wormholes and gallery (partly restored) at the lower corners of the quires, especially affecting the last seven quires. Light, uniform foxing on some leaves.
