From 1845 until his death, J. Vieillard modernizes and diversifies the production of the factory. In 1849, a report by the central jury of agricultural and industrial products praises the quality of Vieillard earthenware. In October 1852, on the occasion of Louis Napoleon Bonaparte's visit to Bordeaux, J. Vieillard receives the ribbon and the cross of the Legion of Honor from the Prince-President, who had asked to visit the factory. In 1854, he was also awarded a gold medal at the ninth exhibition of the Bordeaux Philomatic Society. All these awards testify to the success of the factory. On the death of J. Vieillard in 1868, his sons Albert and Charles took over until the closure of the company in 1895.
