Michel HAAS (1934-2019)
Untitled
Print, signed lower center
Height 65 cm; Width 50 cm
A French painter and sculptor, Michel Haas's pictorial work is close to the fresco style, reminiscent of the paintings of Renaissance artists in Florence. He also works with crumpled paper, charcoal and pastel. The everyday spectacle is one of his sources of inspiration. Serial repetition is also central to his work. Certain subjects, such as the embracing couple, recur over the years. He is represented in France (Galerie Jeanne Bucher, Di Méo, Univer and Cyril Guernieri) and abroad (Jan Krugier in Geneva and Holly Salomon in New York). The Musée Maillol in Paris devoted an exhibition to him in 1998.
