Important cocktail ring in 750°/°° (18k) yellow gold set with an emerald-cut citrine weighing approx. 10.5 carats in a double claw setting, encircled by a line of six old-cut diamonds in platinum weighing approx. 0.07 carat each (0.40 carat total), the setting entirely in twisted gold wire simulating foliage (traces of cutting).
Citrine dimensions: approx. 16.30 x 12.30 x 7.90 mm. TDD: 53. 12.67 g gross.
Attached are five jewelry drawings on tracing paper in pencil enhanced with gouache, depicting citrine cocktail rings with twisted ring bodies.
Paul TOUZET, a designer and jeweler active from 1940 to 1970, worked for VAN CLEEF & ARPELS, BOUCHERON and STERLE, according to family tradition. He is also said to have worked with Georges BRAQUE and Jean COCTEAU on their jewelry. His creations are typical of French and Parisian jewelry production during the Trente Glorieuses.
