VERA (André). Les jardins. Paris, Emile-Paul frères, 1919-1920. In-4, havana morocco, smooth spine, cold-engraved author and palladium title separated by horizontal gilded fillets, half the boards covered in parchment, and decorated with a geometric pattern of palladium, gilded and cold-engraved fillets, and mosaic morocco listels, cover extended to the edge of the inside flaps and decorated with fillets, gilt head, untrimmed, covers and spines preserved, case [Léotard, Nogues, Povie] (spine slightly faded). and spine, slipcase [Léotard, Nogues, Povie] (spine slightly faded). First edition of this work illustrated with numerous wood-engraved compositions by Paul Véra. Limited edition of 536 copies: one of 500 on Arches laid paper (n°397). A fine copy in an elegant Art Deco binding, dated 1927, designed by Germaine de Léotard and executed by S. Nogues and M. P. Povie. A disciple of Pierre Legrain, G. de Léotard distinguished herself in the '20s, winning a silver medal at the 1925 Exposition des Arts Décoratifs.
