JAMES SANDIFORD, MANCHESTER. A GEORGE III FIGURED MAHOGANY EIGHT-DAY QUARTER STRIKING LONGCASE CLOCK having a swan neck pediment above an ogee moulded glazed door and reeded columns enclosing a 13" arched brass dial with masked spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding an engraved silvered dial with seconds dial and calendar aperture, the arch with rolling moonphase and name plaque fronting an eight day weight driven movement with anchor escapement striking the quarters on two bells and the hours on a larger bell (227cm high) The clock is in very original unrestored condition. Some damage to the crown on top of the pediment. Several pieces of the dental moulding are missing. There is also shrinkage splits and a piece missing from the hood door. there are also splits in the base panel and losses to the blind fret on the canted corners. The movement is original to case. The dial has lost some of the silvering. Movement original to dial, calendar work is missing otherwise is complete but will need servicing. Comes with original pendulum but no weights.
