JOHN TAYLOR, MANCHESTER. A GEORGE III FIGURED MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK having a swan neck pediment with eglomise panels above a glazed door on slender trunk with brass capped reeded quarter columns on canted base with applied panel and ogee bracket feet, the 12" arched brass dial with rococo spandrels and silvered chapter ring surrounding a matted engraved centre with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture, the arch with moonphase aperture fronting an eight day weight driven movement striking the hours on a bell (234cm high) The case has some slight lifting to the polish on the edges of the figuring to the trunk door and there are light surface scratches to the polish on the front panel of the base, the movement and dial are original to case, the dial is in good condition with original hands, the movement is complete and running with calendar and moonphase functioning, the movement hasn't been serviced for a while so would be recommended. Comes with weights and pendulum.
