Gothein's works were removed from a large number of German museums and collections as part of the National Socialist "Degenerate Art" campaign. - Mounted on support in places in the upper margin and under passepartout, somewhat rubbed overall, the corners and edges stronger, with small pressure points in places and somewhat stained on the verso and with residue from an old mount.
