Earth globe by C.L. van Balen. Groningen, around 1908, inscribed "Aardglobe door C.L. van Balen. J.B. Wolters. Groningen. Den Haag.", the globe as a papier-mâché sphere covered with 12 color-lithographed paper segments, mounted in a color-lithographed sheet metal frame, full circle meridian with 4 x 90° divisions, the horizon ring with indication of the cardinal points, month divisions, zodiac signs and 360° divisions. Diameter: approx. 10 cm. Height: approx. 14.5 cm.
