André LHOTE (1885-1962) Carved wooden frame decorated with leaves and flowers Circa 1900 Signed A. Lhote 80 x 110 cm In 1897, André Lhote began an apprenticeship in a cabinetmaking workshop (Atelier Courbaterre), where he learned ornamental wood carving. It was probably during this period that he produced this frame, which is entirely in the Art Nouveau spirit.
