Septemtrionaliora Americae to Greenland . Rare marine chart or portulan, copper engraved and illuminated by hand in period. Depicting Hudson's Bay and Strait, Baffins Bay and the west coast of Greenland Measures print: 49 x 57.5 cm. A naval battle rages outside Hudson Strait and another ship sails in Baffins Bay. The chart, is profusely adorned with rhumb lines, compass rose and two elaborate cartouches, one with the title in Dutch. From the marine atlas "Orbis Maritimus" Amsterdam, 1675.
