Yagües, Pepe (José) Ícaro en Lunas. With 40 signed original aquatints. 2022. loosely inserted in original blue wooden cassette with colored metal application in relief, the cassette numbered, signed and titled by hand. Dimensions of the cassette 59 x 79 x 5 cm. One of five numbered copies. - Contains 25 large-format aquatints (sheet dimensions approx. 72 x 51 cm each) and 15 smaller ones (25.5 x 14 cm). The works signed, dated and titled. - Published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name in the Spanish city of Orihuela. The artist's book represents a dialog between the work of the Murcian Yagües and the book of poems "Perito en Lunas" by the poet Miguel Hernández from Orihuela. The etchings are based on the poet's mythological-erotic verses, in which numerous figures from Greek-Latin antiquity appear, such as Leda, Venus, Siringa, Phaethon, Jupiter, Pan or Europa and the moon, as the moon is the element that appears most frequently in the entire production of the poet from Orihuela. Some of the prints are decorated with metal applications in relief. - The mostly midnight blue aquatints are extremely rich and full of color. Rare object from a very small edition.
