Winterhalter, Franz Xaver Handwritten letter with signature by the German portrait painter to "Euer Hochwohlgeboren". German handwriting on machine-made paper. Paris, Nov. 6, 1855. 2 pp. on 1 double sheet (each approx. 18.9 x 12.3 cm). Letter to a sent receipt. "As for the lithograph you write to me about, which is currently being made in Stuttgart, I must only regret that I cannot do anything about it, for only when I have the picture and the artist before me can my advice ... be of any use ... Now I ask you to have the kindness to read the enclosed letter ... Miss v. Massenbach ..." - Winterhalter (1805-1873) was considered the most famous and most sought-after portraitist of the princely courts of Europe at the time. - With illegible sign.
