Venice, Joannes Baptist Sessa, 1583. 6 vols. 238 (recte 230) p. 8°. Pgt. d. With hs. fragment. preserved. R-title in mod. Pp. Slipcase (rubbed, bumped and stained, spine with restored cover damage).
EDIT 16 CNCE 11422 - Not in Adams. - Rare, currently untraceable for us in international trade. - First Venetian edition of the new Roman calendar of martyrs, promulgated under Pope Gregory XIII following the Tridentine liturgical reform (the Roman editions date to the same year). - Title page with annotations in manuscript "Ex legato R.R.D.D. Jeremia et (...) Rapp Padre Offenburgensis (...) A° 1621." The endpapers renewed, only slightly browned due to the paper, only a few pages somewhat foxed or fingerstained in the margins. Overall in very good condition.
With title woodcut, printed throughout in red and black. Cont. vellum in mod. card slipcase (scuffed, bumped a. stained, spine with restored cover defects). - Rare, currently for us not verfiable in international trade. - Title page with handwritten notes by old hand. - Endpapers renewed, due to paper only slightly browned, few pp. somewhat foxed or finger stained in the margins. Altogether very well preserved.
