De formandis concionisbus sacris, seu de interpretatione scripturarum populari. Libri II. With woodcut printer's mark on the title. Marburg, Andreas Kolbe, 1553. 135 pp. 1 nn. Leaf. 12°. HLdr. of the 18th c. with ribbed boards and gilt, pasted paper covers, leather corners, red edges on three sides and colored paper endpapers (somewhat scuffed, rubbed and bumped).
VD16 G 1408 (under Gerardi). - This edition not in STC and Adams. - The first Protestant doctrine on preaching. - "The original prints are extremely rare... The editio princeps has unmistakable merits despite some logical flaws" (Herzog/Hauck VIII, 505, in 1900). - From the library of the superintendent of Wurzen, later Plauen, Christian Anton August Fiedler (1771-1843), with eh. Ownership inscription on flyleaf. - With numerous neat underlinings and some marginalia in old hand in ink. - Title page somewhat stained and dusty, only very slightly and evenly browned. Overall extremely well-preserved and clean copy.

Half leather binding of the 18th cent. with gilt spine, paste paper covers, leather corners, three sided red edges a. marbled endpapers (slightly scuffed, rubbed a. bumped). - The first Protestant didactic sermon. - From the libraryof Christian Anton August Fiedler (1771-1843), with ownership inscription on flyleaf. - With numerous neat underlinings and some marginalia in old hand in ink. - Title page somewhat stained and dusty, only very slightly and evenly browned. Overall a very well-preserved and clean copy.
