Gilles Corrozet (1510-1568) was a Parisian publisher, printer and bookseller, a man of letters and historian, the author and editor of the first guidebooks to Paris. An early version of this legendary and rudimentary history of Paris ("La fleur des antiquitez de la noble et triumphante ville et cite de Paris") was published in 1532. Due to its great success, a completely revised and greatly expanded edition followed in 1550 under this title. This second edition is the most complete during the author's lifetime, in which the last recorded event is dated 1560. - Endpapers renewed. A few occasional underlinings. Paper somewhat browned and minimally stained. Well preserved. With woodcut printer's mark.
