VD16 C 4778 - Very rare edition of the main work of Brandenburg church history, edited after the Mainz document, which led to the final Reformation in Brandenburg. - The woodcuts show the Brandenburg coat of arms, Elector Joachim II kneeling before the crucifix and Elector Johann Georg von Brandenburg. - Front fly-leaf endpapers and additionally bound-in leaves with mostly German (partly faded) various handwritten texts. Texts in an old hand, including Christian questions by Luther, prayers for confession, Easter, Ascension and others, Psalm 115 ("Non nobis do(mi)ne non nobis ...") and Psalm 118 ("Confitemini do(mi)no ...") as well as many annotations and some annotations in the text. - Endpapers renewed (front flyleaf endpaper additionally preserved), at the end some leaves with backings (partly loss of text), occasional wormholes, partly dampstained, otherwise generally well-preserved and decorative copy. With 9 (partly repeated) portrait and coat of arms woodcuts by Peter Hille after F. Friderich as well as some notes.
