Darlow & Moule 1422 - Volume 4 of the Bible published by Benedictus Arias Montanus (1527-1598) on behalf of the Spanish King Philip II with a parallel text in four languages from Isaiah to the Third Book of Maccabees in Hebrew, Chaldean, Greek and Latin, arranged in four columns on two facing pages: Hebrew, Vulgate, a literal Latin version of the Septuagint, Greek Septuagint, below in the running text a Chaldean paraphrase and its Latin translation. The 3 Maccabees in parallel columns of the Greek Septuagint and its Latin translation, the rest of the Apocrypha printed in three columns. - Front cover with eh. Owner's inscription by Manuel de Omaña y Sotomayor (1735-1796, Catholic clergyman in New Spain/Mexico) and the Jesuit order Compania de Jesus de Mexico as well as library stamp Libreria del Colle de Mex(ico). - Some waterstains and small worm marks mostly in w. margin, some minor foxing, overall well preserved.
