Rare "Bleu de Hué" porcelain covered bowl Mounted on a foot, with a straight wall that flares wide at the opening, decorated in cobalt blue on a white ground with dragons among the waves, in front of the sacred pearl, the backgrounds with honeycomb motifs. The base and lid are marked with dragons depicted frontally in medallions. Metal hoops around the neck and lid. Height: 14 cm Diameter: 16.5 cm (firing defect forming a through crack on the wall, and small defect on the rim of the opening) Provenance: Former collection of Ông Nguyễn Văn Hai (1875-1940) governor of Gò Công in Cochinchina, current great-grandfather of the current owners, and handed down by descent.
