Refined individualist who revealed himself in Le Culte du Moi. Boulangiste deputy for Nancy (1888-1891), he was nevertheless an intellectual guide for the nationalist movement. His work reveals a contradiction between, on the one hand, a passionate spirit and, on the other, a need for order and discipline on which he would cast a lucid and disenchanted eye.
