One of Napoleon's most loyal marshals, even though he never spared him criticism. He supported the Emperor in all his battles, from the Italian campaign to that against Austria in 1809, during which he was mortally wounded. In 1804, Napoleon elevated him to the rank of Marshal of the Empire. Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor.
Signed document.
