Versailles cavalry carbine model 1793, octagonal barrel rifled with seven large stripes, lightly blunderbussed, thunder stamped: "B 2" surmounted by a Phrygian cap, in an oval, length 40 cm, caliber 15 mm; flat-bodied lock bearing the same stamp, signed: "MANUFRE À VERSAILLES", swan-neck hammer, brass bassoon; cut brass fittings, rectangular square-section trigger guard loop, hinged iron barrel clapper; cheeked walnut stock; overall length 78 cm. (Some pitting on the front of the lock).
Era year III, year IV (September 1794/September 1795). Very good condition.
