Admiral's saber, straight, chased and gilded brass hilt, decorated with the bust of Mercury and two stars, large shuttle-shaped auricles representing a divinity in antique costume, quillon in the shape of a fantastic animal's head, cap terminating in a lion's head, ebony spindle, squared; curved blade with single hollow edge and lateral groove along the back, blued and gilded in thirds, decorated with foliage and flowers; brass scabbard adorned with oak leaves, embellished with three cabochons, the first representing an important trophy of arms, the second the symbol of admirals: Neptune seated on a throne-shaped shell and brandishing a trident, the third in the shape of a shuttle,
Mars the god of war, brass dart; this scabbard has undergone a period repair under the second strap; length 104 cm. (The scabbard entrance has been lost).

This type of saber was used by admirals when on horseback.
