Model 1829 marine helmet for landing troops, patent black leather bomber, sewn-on cap, also sewn-on black leather burster; black leather visor and nape protector with brass trim; top fitted with black horsehair chenille; stamped brass chinstraps with scales, rosette bosses, stamped brass plate: a shield with a laurel wreath in the center and, on either side, two round medallions, one marked: "3" and the other: "D", resting on a large naval anchor; interior in heavy canvas; the bottom of the bomb is marked in white paint: "Communié".
