An elephant clock on a leafy terrace, in chased, gilded and patinated bronze, the dial showing hours and minutes in Arabic and Roman numerals, signed "Le ROY A Paris", inscribed in a case surmounted by a canopied drape on which an Indian holding a spear stands. Signed "S. GERMAIN", for Jean-Joseph de Saint-Germain, bronze-maker received Master in 1748.
