Ca. 2600 - 2200 BC. A pair of Sumerian copper cups with conical bodies. The first cup on the left is decorated with protomes of birds of prey with spread wings that envelop the body of the cup. The cup on the right is decorated with bull protomes under the rim. The bulls alternative with rosettes. Both of the cups are on a high foot. Size: 70-90mm x 65-70mm; Weight: 430g Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014, acquired in 2010 from a UK private collection formed 1970s to 1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
