Small Satsuma earthenware vase, JAPAN, Meiji era (1868-1912)
Decorated on the globular body with a swarm of plovers (shidori) in flight, on the shoulder with geometric motifs, and on the wide neck with a frieze of rhombuses with bosses and another of chrysanthemums, two openwork handles in the shape of chrysanthemum flowers, Dozan mark in gold-on-black enamel on the base.
