Almohadón Modernista, Reino Unido, c. 1870/19... Lot n° 107

Modernist cushion made around 1870/1900. From its provenance and decorative type, it is a textile made in the United Kingdom. It is presumably made of cotton, hemp and burlap. On its obverse side there is an embroidered schematic central motif, inscribed in a square where others of geometric and curvilinear type alternate, predominating the maroon color. The whole piece is surrounded on its outer perimeter by a braided cord in different tones. Towards one of its angles there are stains of antique (see photograph). Good general conservation. Measurements: 55 x 58 cm.
