GALLE - Exceptional ARUM VASE
Large "soufflé moulé" vase, conical top shape with flared neck.
Dark and light red, reddish-brown flowers and arum leaves in high relief on an opalescent yellow ground.
Signed: "Gallé" in relief in the decoration.
Very good condition.
Circa 1925.

The technique of "soufflé molded" vases was perfected by Etablissements Gallé in
1924 for the presentation of these prestigious pieces at the 1925 Universal Exhibition.
After demolding, the vases underwent a series of finishing operations, including acid treatment and various types of polishing, to bring out the full value of their important reliefs.
