A handsome stylised head carved from white marble. The statue depicts the god Dionysus in archaic style with idealised fixed features. His curly hair falls around his forehead concealing his ears and connecting this to his long polygonal beard and moustache. For similar see: I Borgese e l'antico, Skira editore, 2011, 108, 1-2.
