Middle Kingdom, 11th Dynasty, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. An Egyptian Middle Kingdom bronze double-edged dagger, tapering blade bears a central ridge. The handle is cast of two parts which are riveted to hold the blade, the handle leads to a bone semi-circular pommel. This type of dagger with round shoulders of the guard is characteristic of the Middle Kingdom. Handle with some restoration. This piece is accompanied by a historical report from Alessandro Neri, an international Cultural Heritage expert based in Florence, Italy.
