ALFA-ROMEO SZ Presented in 1989 at the Geneva Motor Show, the SZ, for Sprint Zagato, was supposed to express Alfa-Roméo's revival after its takeover by Fiat. Based on the shortened chassis of the "75", it is equipped with the famous 3-liter Busso V6, boosted to 210 hp. It is fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The bodywork is partly in aluminum. Robert Opron, who designed several Citroëns including the SM, was the main designer, with only a few details refined by Zagato. Quickly nicknamed "Il Mostro", its highly controversial design and exorbitant price tag of CHF 81,500 at the time explain why only 1,036 examples were produced between 1989 and 1993. A roadster on the same base was produced in 278 examples. The model shown, red with beige interior, was launched in July 1991. In perfect mechanical condition, in perfect working order, it passed the technical inspection on 13.11.2023. With only 15,000 km on the odometer, this car is undoubtedly one of the most perfectly driven in Switzerland.
