Pair of chased repoussé silver candlesticks and bobèches. The Rocaille set rests on four acanthus-leaf scrolled feet extended by shells on the bow of the shaft, alternating with diamond-shaped crosses on an amati background. The shaft is embossed with three plain, unengraved cartouches.
Master silversmith: Barthélémy SAMSON, received in 1757.
Gross weight (weighted in the shaft): 1711 g - height without bobèches: 30.2 cm
An identical pair - only the date letter differs - appears on page 97 in the exhibition catalog "Orfèvrerie Toulousaine au XVIIIe siècle" - October to December 1988.
