A pair of cased German percussion pocket pistols, J. A. Kuchenreuter, Regensburg, circa 1840
Rifled, browned octagonal barrels in 8 mm caliber, somewhat dull bores, dovetailed silver front sights and signature in gold on top. Engraved patent breechblocks and breechblock blades, blued black and numbered "1" and "2", adjustable front sights. Percussion locks with cock safeties and vine engravings. Florally carved half stocks with fine chequering. Lock side plates also blued, the rest of the furniture made of nickel silver, fine floral engraving. Length 18 cm each. In a case of beautifully grained wood inlaid with gold-stamped leather, containing extensive accessories consisting of a horn powder flask, ramrod, loading hammer/cleaning rod, oil flask, bullet mould, various tools, etc. Dimensions 21 x 16.5 x 5 cm.
