An Urartarian bronze sheet with the "Lord of the Animals", 9th - 8th century B.C..
Bronze sheet tapering towards the bottom. The central motif is an animal-headed figure in a knee-length garment holding predator-like animals with both outstretched hands. Similar depictions are known from the kingdom of Urartu. One mounting hole in each corner. The rim framed by circular line decoration. The central figure and the right animal slightly chased in relief, otherwise elaborated by fine cold-work such as engraving, hallmarking, etc. Intact. Beautiful patina. Length 20.5 cm.
