A visor cap for an infantry officer, circa 1910
Property piece. Elegant, high plate shape. Fine woolen cloth in typical Bavarian uniform blue with a ponceau red cap cuff and cap front, complete with both cockades, black lacquered peak with white underside. Black leather sweatband with the silver maker's imprint of the K. B. Hoflieferanten H. Zimmermann in Munich and the applied metal carrier initial "B", watered black silk ribbed lining. Size approx. 56. Minor, inconspicuous moth damage in places, signs of wear and age. Rare in this quality.
